Mr. Dan Miner
Dan Miner is in his 12th year of teaching and is thrilled to lead the Travis High School Choir program. He holds degrees from Michigan State University in both music education and piano and has experience teaching choir at both the middle school and high school levels. Choirs under his direction have earned consistent "Sweepstakes" awards at the Texas UIL Concert & Sight Reading Evaluation. He has also been honored to present two separate workshops at the Texas Music Educators Association's annual conference in San Antonio.
Outside of school he serves as Organist/Music Associate at Clear Lake United Methodist Church and is a regular accompanist for many Solo & Ensemble Contests as well as community, sacred, school, and TMEA Region choirs across the Houston area.
He is also a published composer with Alliance Music Publications, BriLee Music Publishing, Carl Fischer Publishing, D/M Music, and the Hal Leonard Corporation. Mr. Miner is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), the Texas Music Educator's Association (TMEA), and the Texas Choral Director's Association (TCDA).
